Most Anticipated Books of 2013
There's a lot of good stuff on the horizon next year! Here's what I'm most looking forward to:
1. Doctor Sleep by Stephen King
I am SO STOKED to re-read The Shining in anticipation of this sequel!
2. The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult
One of my favorite authors, I look forward to her new releases every Feb/March.
3. Family Pictures by Jane Green
JG does great women's fiction, and this one sounds excellent.
4. Joyland by Stephen King
Another King release! I am unapologetic in my adoration.
5. Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans
6. And The Mountains Echo by Khaled Hosseini
The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns were captivating...I can't wait to see what Hosseini has in store next.
I know, this one is on EVERYONE'S list...but of course I want to know how the Divergent trilogy ends!!
8. When She Was Gone by Gwendolen Gross
This book, about a 17-yr-old's disappearance just before she leaves for college, sounds exactly like the type of modern drama I'd be into.
If you haven't read Pollan's first two books (The Omnivore's Dilemma, and In Defense of Food), do that now. Then come back here and be excited about his new release with me.
10. The Accursed by Joyce Carol Oates
I've read only a fracton of Oates's long library of books, but I've enjoyed every one that I've picked up. Her new one, set in Princeton, sounds haunting.
What are you looking forward to in 2013?
Level 2 looks really interesting. Congratulations on the signed copy and I hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Jane Green fan and I shall definitely be checking this one out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my Teaser Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI want to see what you think of The Accursed. I see it around a lot.

My Top Ten
No regrets for putting the Divergent book on my list haha, can't wait for it!! Also, Level 2 looks really good! I think it already was on my tbr but if not: it is now! :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty covers! I forgot about Level 2... must add. :) And yay for Divergent. I can't wait to see how it all ends.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it crazy that S King is publishing a sequel to The Shining after all these years??? I'm really excited to read it, but I also have to reread the first book, because it has been a long time since I read it. Didn't know he also had a second novel coming out next year, Joyland-- awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten Most Anticipated Books
Level 2 is great!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I loved Gwendolen Gross' previous book, so I really want to read that one as well.
Joyce Carol Oates' new book's cover is FAB. So pretty. *pets cover*
I'm really interested in Level 2! And of course for the new Divergent book! I didn't put that one on my list so I could stick to titles that weren't too far out/ones with covers, but I'm so curious to see how I feel about the last book!
ReplyDeleteLevel 2 sounds so good, super excited for it! When She Was Gone looks very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteGreat picks! I AM SO HAPPY YOU HAVE ADULT PICKS! I'm always so behind lately trying to keep up with the YA and Adult releases! This made my day! Level 2 was sooo interesting!!
ReplyDeleteJodi Picoult is a fabulous author. I do love her, although I've only read a couple of her books.
ReplyDeleteAnd Level 2 looks brilliant.
Great list. New follower.
I haven't heard of a few of these so I'll definitively look them up! :) Thanks for stopping by my TTT list!

Level 2 sounds awesome, and yay for the Veronica Roth book! I didn't include it on my list since it didn't have a title yet, but luckily I already had my 10 :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome list! I almost put Level 2 on mine, but it got bumped in the end for something else...but it's hard to pick just 10 books!! I've also got When She Was Gone on my TBR, I'm going to take a look at a few of the others...

So obviously I knew I was going to be a fan of you and your list when you said that you were "SO STOKED" to read something. I feel like I say that--exactly that, in caps and all--all the time.
ReplyDeleteI used to read TONS of Jane Green, like Mr. Maybe and Jemima J, etc., but have falled behind lately. But honestly, When She Was Gone sounds intense and kind of dark and mostly AWESOME. Adding it to my TBR now!
I have Level 2 on my TBR list too. I have to confess that I have never read a book by Stephen King (I find the few movies based on his books too scary!). Some of these are new to me, thanks for that and for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteLevel 2 looks awesome; it's on my TBR list. I am way behind on the Divergent trilogy; I own the first book but still haven't read it. I think I'll have to make reading it a New Year's resolution. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid to look ahead at upcoming books - but now you've gone and added books to my wish list and convinced me I need to go see what else is coming out.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to read that Joyce Carol Oates has a new one coming out. I really like her writing.
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for stopping by! :)
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be a Stephen King fan :)
I didn't know Khaled Hosseini was writing a new book! Thanks for letting me know! I'll definitely be checking that one out.

ReplyDeleteWoo, lots of great comments y'all! Thanks for coming by! I'm glad I've helped a few of you find some new releases for 2013. I know I found a lot of new ones on other people's lists too!
ReplyDelete@Liza I totally recommend taking the plunge on a SK book! Not all of them are gory...I promise... :)
Wow- two books for Stephen King? That man is amazing. Of course, I won't read them (I have an overactive imagination and can't do horror- or it will haunt me for weeks.) I still haven't even started the Divergent trilogy- guess I better get cracking. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a Jane Green book in soooo long. I must remedy that soon. Great list!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your list. I didn't know Jane Green was releasing another title this year. I love reading her stuff. The Storyteller sounds like it'll be another hit for Picoult.
ReplyDeleteI really should get around to reading Pollan's books... And you put Oates on your list too. She's just amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo I am reading The Shining for the first time, and now I hear there is going to be a sequel! And I am super excited about it now! And I am a huge fan of Jodi Picoult and Jane Green, so it's good to hear they are both publishing new and exciting looking books!
ReplyDeleteThanks for droppin' by! Following back on twitter =)
Hi Kelly! I hope your copy of LEVEL 2 arrived? Thanks for including it on your list!
